When it comes to work, I leave nothing incomplete. That’s why I say “aut inveniam viam aut faciam” quite often

I started my professional journey when I was just a translation degree student. I formed my own team to subtitle and translate trending Turkish TV series into English. The television series was available on multiple subscription-based online platforms. Later, with the guidance of my professor, whose principles I still admire, I established my own theory book translation project in the department, during which I had many opportunities to improve my skills in both translation and team management. With the project’s closure, I had the chance to work with famous Turkish YouTubers. I formed my own subtitling team, and we focused on translating their weekly YouTube videos into English. During the pandemic, due to auto-translation and subtitling features integrated into multiple digital platforms and oversaturation of translators in the market, most projects became unsustainable and were terminated. At that time, I met ELT, which I had loved for a long time. Since the end of the pandemic, I have sought opportunities in the ELT sector while continuing my roles as a subtitle and localization specialist. I had opportunities to work with prep schools at multiple universities, and I also taught in the translation department.

I studied translation at the university; however, due to my passion for literature, I pursued a Master’s degree in English language and literature, which broadened my perspective on language and the world.

Currently, I am operating at iMerit Scholars as a team leader and project management support member.
